Kevin Nortrup (Principal, Sugar Creek Solutions) graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois in Computer Engineering. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB), is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Indiana chapter of the Institute for Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE). Kevin is a registered mediator in the State of Indiana, a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS), a Diplomate of the Society for Health Systems (DSHS), and former chair of the Enterprise Systems Working Group of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). For his application of systems-thinking and systems-engineering to management-engineering and process-improvement (ME/PI) in healthcare, Kevin received the 2018 SHS/HIMSS Excellence in Healthcare Management-Engineering/Process-Improvement Award.
Kevin advocates and pursues an integrative, holistic approach to life. In addition to his extensive technical background and expertise, he is also a naturalist, a musician, a songwriter, and a student of the human condition. He aspires to seek truth and wisdom on all sides of all issues, and he strongly encourages collaborative synthesis over capitulation, coercion, or compromise.
